Amazônia 4.0 welcomes Jhanne Franco, chocolate-making teacher.
THOSE OF YOU WHO FOLLOW OUR WEBSITE KNOW THAT THE AMAZON CREATIVE LABS (ACL’S) PROJECT IS GETTING CLOSER AND CLOSER TO ITS IMPLEMENTATION PHASE. THE WORK IS IN FULL SWING, AND NOW WITH A MAJOR ADDITION: CHOCOLATIER JHANNE FRANCO.
Photo/Reproduction: Amazonia 4.0
She has a degree in Agronomy and is specialized in chocolaterie at Castelli – Escola de Chocolataria. She has joined to validate the technologies developed for ACL CUPUAÇU-CACAU and will provide training in the production of cupulates, a type of chocolate made from cupuaçu almond and traditional chocolates in the communities where the project is being implemented.
A native of the Amazon state of Rondônia, Jhanne knows the challenges and potentials of the region and has aligned goals with those of the institute. She values local cocoa production and sustainable practices, such as cocoa produced in agroforests.
Jhanne Franco was an intern at the Chocolates Amazônicos De Mendes factory, owned by one of our first consultants and supporters of the project, César De Mendes. She knows the cocoa production chain in the Amazon and is the owner of Jhanne Franco Chocolates, a fine chocolate factory that is an example of the potential of the bioeconomy in the Amazon.
She also has experience teaching chocolate production to audiences such as cocoa farmers, and is currently an instructor on SENAR Rondônia’s bean-to-bar chocolate-making course. At the institute, she is already working on defining the lesson plan based on her teaching experience.
We celebrate this partnership, which will strengthen our goal of producing while protecting the forest. The laboratories will soon be circulating throughout the Amazon.
