We create unprecedented alternatives to reduce deforestation in the Amazon Thousands of square kilometers of the Amazon are deforested and burned annually for commodities. We found out that this constant march is leading us to a point of no return into the savannization of this biome - if we reach 25% degradation, there will be no way to recover it. New paths must be chartered and we are working on it!
We work towards developing the best bioeconomy for the world Amazonia 4.0 is an institute that develops advanced technologies and methods to transform Amazonian inputs into highly valuable products, develop a powerful bioindustry, empower local people, and create urgently needed alternatives to deforestation. We are merging traditional knowledge with science and Industry 4.0 in our mobile biofactories, the Amazon Creative Labs (ACLs).
Amazon Creative Lab
The Amazon Creative Labs (ACLs) were created to demonstrate a new bioeconomy in which traditional and indigenous peoples play a leading role in the production of products with high added value, based on cultural and environmental appreciation. Also, to promote technical and technological aspects and the development of entrepreneurial capacity centered on non-timber products from Amazonian biodiversity, with training activities carried out directly in local communities.
Amazonia 4.0 Academy
The Amazonia 4.0 Academy was established with a clear goal: to transmit knowledge and experience for enhancing the development of a new economy. How? Through a variety of courses and trainings that encourage and teach innovation through the paths pointed out by technology 4.0 and the traditional and ancestral knowledge of the peoples of the Amazon.
Biomes 4.0
The Biomes 4.0 program comes from the need to think about new models of sustainable development keeping the biodiversity in all of Brazil’s Biomes. We are already creating alternative models for the Atlantic Forest, the Cerrado, the Pantanal, and the Caatinga, and we will not stop there.
Inspired by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the AmiT began to be designed at the beginning of 2020. Its premise is that the knowledge of the Amazon must be a combination of science, technology, innovation, inclusion, and conservation. The institute aims to find creative solutions involving a holistic and transdisciplinary approach at the structural problems that result in sustainable development in the Amazon.
Welcome to Amazonia 4.0
Building the largest bioeconomy in the world is a huge project and undoubtedly requires a lot of people working with us. We count on players from different sectors, we invite local people and bring traditional wisdom into our range of knowledge. We have come this far with the help of our supporters and collaborators, and this is how we will move forward! With them and with you! If your company/institution wants to be with us:
Check out who is with us and a little of our story.
We are honoured and happy to have such generous partners. More important than the support they have given us is the ideological alignment we have – our desire to change the current scenario, to return the Amazon and Brazil to the leading role they deserve, and above all, respect the Forest.
