Amazônia 4.0 meets with Geraldo Alckmin
THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE AMAZON 4.0 INSTITUTE, ISMAEL NOBRE, MET WITH THE VICE-PRESIDENT TO DISCUSS THE TECHNOLOGICAL PROSPECTS FOR THE AMAZON.
With the aim of presenting a plan with technological perspectives for the Amazon that encompass development combined with forest conservation and the generation of jobs and income, Ismael Nobre, Executive Director of the Amazon 4.0 Institute, met with the Vice President of the Republic and Minister of Development, Industry, Trade and Services, Geraldo Alckmin.
The meeting took place in Brasilia – DF, at the Ministries of Esplanade. During the meeting, Amazônia 4.0 presented its projects which aim to boost a bioeconomy centered on the protagonism of the Amazonians.
On this occasion, prototypes of chocolates that can be developed by Amazonian communities with the implementation of the Amazon Creative Lab (ACL) Cupuaçu-Cacao were also presented. The chocolates were packaged with an exclusive illustration created by Sonia Soares, resulting from trips to the Amazon interior during the project’s development.
The meeting was also attended by Márcio Elias Rosa, Executive Secretary; Rodrigo Rollemberg, Secretary for Green Economy, Decarbonization and Bioindustry; Manuela Amaral, Special Advisor; climatologist Carlos Nobre and the team involved in setting up the Amazon Institute of Technology (AmIT), who presented AmIT’s objectives and foundations.

Conducting dialogues like this, involving different sectors of society, focused on the future of the Amazon is fundamental to strengthen actions that support socio-environmental aspects for the Amazon region and also combine development, technologies, and sustainability in the construction of a vertical and socio-biodiverse bioeconomy.
