ACL GENOMICS IS FOCUSED ON GENOME SEQUENCING
Now in the final stages of drawing up the design report, this ACL model has a transformative, innovative and revolutionary inclusion role for Amazonian peoples.
In addition to bringing autonomy to traditional communities through the ACLs aimed at the verticalized production of bioproducts, it is essential to bring characteristic knowledge of the living beings belonging to the biodiversity that surrounds the communities of the Amazon region.
In this sense, the ACL Genomics program for genome sequencing aims to provide community members with portable sequencers in order to train them in sample preparation and sequencing and also to provide a broader and more accurate definition of local biodiversity.

“This is one of the most disruptive ACLs: a laboratory dedicated to training the Amazonian population in genome sequencing using portable equipment.
